Journey To An Imaginary Land

Inspired by the album of the same name by an Austrian multi-instrumentalist by the name of 'Gandalf' so perhaps its inclusion here is appropriate. Copyright - 1985.

Watercolour and felt tip pens. 320mm x 210mm.

Basic colour effects done in watercolour with highlights and detail in felt tip pen. The original has faded so much that this image has been taken from a rather poor 35mm slide.

It's regrettable that so much of my work seems to have disappeared, been lost or given away to people I'm no longer in contact with. I still have the original of this, but the colours have virtually gone. Only the outlines of the 'mushroom' stacks and ground ridges remain.

So that should be a warning to any artist out there. If you want to preserve your original work, make sure you use permanent media.
