Pathways
An early work indicating that composition wise, I still had a lot to learn. © - 1985. Watercolours and gouache. A2 - 590mm x 420mm. An extremely early attempt at developing my own style but with heavy influence from Roger Dean. This image worsened by the fact that the original has been lost and this was taken from an aging 35mm slide. I always loved the floating rocks and pathways that were characteristic of Roger Dean's work in the 1970s. However, there are elements in this painting that were loosely inspired by some of Rodney Mathews' painting as well. An painting that I have no idea were the original is. |
