The Wizard's Vale
Taken from a scene in the book, "Vale of the Vole" by Piers Anthony. © - 1990. Acrylics. A2 - 590mm x 420mm. The sky and the valley were airbrushed then the mountain highlights and the forest hand painted using the paint to bleed though to the underlying colour. The foreground characters and cliff top were hand painted. Fortunately, the reduced image presented here makes it difficult to spot the rather bizarre right breast that the centaur has. I've always had difficulty painting human figures and generally try to avoid it. So when it came to the human part of the female winged centaur her breast came out somewhat 'pert' - almost comically so. Anyway, this is fantasy! Perhaps female winged centaurs always have pert breasts! |
